You dont realy need task killers in Android as when you 'exit' apps they get cached/saved to memory, so they actualy arent taking up any CPU cycles therefor no battery is being used by them. You may get a task killer to shutdown apps that are being a problem thou, i suggest getting System Panel * +

System Panel shows you which apps are Cached and which are Active, it also shows real time power useage of each app with a little power bar next to each app, it also shows RAM useage and CPU time of each app,it's very detailed. It also allows you to 'ma55 kill' ,you are able to permanently Exclude apps such as widgets, system apps and apps you frequently use from the 'Ma55 Kill' * +

You also get a System Panel widget which allows you to 'Ma55 Kill' from your homescreen. Sleekish, Yep, they do take RAM as that's where they cache themselves. If RAM runs out then Android does the iOS thing and saves the last place you were in the cached app and completely closes it down. * +

from my personal experience and what i have read i would say dont use one. you get at the end of the day less RAM as if you leave android handle the apps. i also have read killing apps closes them, BUT some kind of screenshot remains in the RAM and thats why it goes down after you kill often apps. * +
