I dont have my S9 Plus anymore it got traded in ages ago with EE and they never seem to want the chargers back so thats why Ive still got it. At least its come in handy now * +

Yep more and more phones and tablets are coming with type C on both ends now, soon the whole Type C with Type A on the other end will be a thing of the past. * +

You can get elcheapo USB-C to USB-A adaptors on ebay, but don't use them to flash your phone.
You can also be brave and solder a USB-A onto a USB-C cable after beheading the undesirable connector. Check the pinouts first! You don't want to be sending +5v down the data lines.
