betternet is the best as long as you download another app called fastboot to use along side it.
betternet is completely free to use, but for what you want to do they limit your speeds to around 50kb/s unless you agree to watch one of their videos before being connected.
only problem there is that the request is extremely intrusive and will invade your phone no matter you do every 20 seconds. that's where fastboot comes in handy to close it and everything else down and stop the ads. from there you open betternet again being sure not to click on the ads again and get speeds near your devices maximum possible limits. *

also consider getting the tTorrent app, the pro version is supposed to be able to encrypt it's internet traffic so that the network or isp doesn't really detect what you are downloading. not so sure it really works as without a vpn I get my speeds throttled back on torrents over the network.
I've used it in America where they send out warning letters to your isp with no problems (but that might be down to T-Mobile not having a billing address for me). *
