I root it with kingroot :) am on kitkat 4.4.2 not gonna update as I lose root what you guy's think is there other way around *

if you buy mobile Odin pro and flash the update with that rather than doing thru the system having everroot ticked you'd be OK. or better yet, download s4 flasher for free and flash a custom recovery. then you can try out a custom or two. custom roms are always pre-rooted but come with the hassle of you needing to understand what you're being asked to do and backing up your old rom AND your old apps which takes time and a lot of space.
you'll be able to try versions of Android that will never exist for your phone officially... *

if your flashing a custom ROM (not stock rom) then most of them include the su binary anyway, so just flash it over the top and it'll be rooted. *
