I have been looking at all the options available and have been coming across very interesting apps. What im trying to get is an ftp app that can reach an ftp server that i have created on my android phone. I use es file manager and created an ftp server using a particular folder but what app do i need on another android access that ftp link. Browsers dont seem to open the link. * +

Also, what other apps are there for fast exchanging of files between android and phone preferably not on the same network. * +

get an ftp app, I can't imagine there'd be any that wouldn't work...

if the two phones aren't on the same (Wi-Fi) network, then ftp is probably the best way to go.... * +

I used remote manager option in es file to have phone act as an ftp server meaning with a pc app like filezilla i can browse my phone as long as I have the link. I thought I could do so from browser but I cant seem to be able to. Problem now is for someone else or even myself accessing this server and they only have their phone and not a pc. Any recommendations of a simple light weight ftp app to use? I'm curious also how I'd send a file to pc via ftp wifi function mentioned above. * +

as far as I know some apps are really just a file transfer option via Wi-Fi, i.e. you can only access a device if both are on the same Wi-Fi network. true FTP servers can be accessed from anywhere, so I guess you need to check the details before you download any app. * +

Got one ftp app called ftp cafe pro and it wasn't working till I changed the port to my ftp port. However ES file was able to make my folder act as a server and and using ftp function in it, open that same server with the app and browse the folder so I'm happy. I can now also transfer files between pc and phone and even stream the series and movies that are on my pc on my phone using ES file manager while on the same wifi network. I'm more than satisfied with it now that i have figured things *
