depends what you want. they're both pretty evenly matched with the exception of things like removable battery, camera quality, speaker quality. myself I'd get the s5 on lollipop as things look a little rosier on the mods hacks and kernel front... * +

S5 is the better one. Removable battery, heart rate sensor, all these fancy Samsung features... M8 is more basic a terrible camera. I know you British love your cameras. Those can be deal breakers. * +

the only advantage with the M8's camera is its low light capability, other than that the ultra pixel tech was a big mistake on HTC's part. I see so many people run the S5 down and iam afraid I dissagree with most peoples opinion on the device, which I believe to be underated. I have both the note 4 and the s5 so surely my opinion must count for something. And I dont think you can truly know a phone untill you have actually owned it. * +

I did have an m8 myself for a short time and its a fantastic phone, but I returned it because I was getting signal problems. Ive had exactly the same issue with every metal phone ive had including my iphone 5s which I still own. *
