So a cousin got a galaxy S3. They dont use the wi-fi very often but when they do they find the wi-fi not connected and the lock is present on the wi-fi connection icon from settings. The wi-fi router is never turned off. Sometimes if you introduce the pass, in the next few minutes the phone is not connnected to wi-fi. If you want to connect the phone propperly you have to restart the wi-fi router and after a day the phone deconnects itself. is this normal? * +

no not at all. it should function without issue... look in the settings menu /about device and see if the status is official or custom...

it's just a guess but with custom roms modem/Wi-Fi problems are fairly common... * +

i use to have a lots of problem with Wi-Fi on my S3, Factory Reset, I mean wipe cache/partition data solved problem just fine, just I've had lots of works to reinstall all cr*p I use
