despite all the rumours, and everything the media have been claiming in the UK, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will not be the first 64 bit android smartphone. I believe the same is also true for the future octa core version, but this post is only aimed at the Uk. It will feature the 2.5ghz snapdragon 801 quad core cpu, a minor upgrade from the 800 as seen in the Note 3, although with 2gb of ram rather than 3gb. But despite this Samsung still claims all its future high end smartphones will be 64 bit * +

The first of which we may see in the Note 4 in the uk this year. However those who were hoping that the S5 would be 64 bit are going to be very disappointed. However on the plus side Samsung claims its trimmed down the touch whiz a bit to make the S5 more responsive than it otherwise would be. The overall interface has seen a change. * +

(octa core smartphones have never made it to the Uk because the exynos octa processors are not compatible with the uk 4g networks, hence the reason why our GS4 has the quad core alternative) * +

I doubt that the majority of smartphone users ever even consider the specs for the phone they might buy. it just being the latest and supposedly greatest is good enough... * +

oh it will still be a good seller obviously but according to various online sources they claim that a lot of big sammy fans are disappointed with the overall specs. But the remainder will still buy it anyway as you say just cos its the latest model. * +

Android can't currently run in 64 bit so it's pointless. Samsung said this. * +
