Xperia Z is higher spec and highly rated. Waterproof too. Though I have an S3 and love it. They're fragile though if dropped. * +

on paper both are very similar. despite the z having the slightly bigger battery its got a fair bit worse battery life, especially in talk time. I'd go for the s3 anyday. I love mine. * +

also because the s3 is much more popular it'll have a bigger dev following on xda so more customability options. * +
