which iphone though? phone arena claims the iphone 4s to have a dual core 800mhz cpu where as gsm arena claims its a 1ghz dual core so who do you believe? even though 1ghz seems more likely. * +

the iphone 5 has been benchmarked as being faster than the S3 even though the iphone 5 is still only dual core, but some experts claim the tests were biased in apples favour which I find very easy to believe. * +

at the end of the day every cpu has its strengths and weaknesses, so it would be easy to choose a benchmarking system that centered on the chips strong points rather than the weak ones. even if the iphone 5 is faster it will be, because of the software rather than the hardware. Of course it also depends if the S3 is running ICS or jellybean. But personally I don't believe the iphone 5 can be faster overall than any version of the S3. But that's an opinion. * +
