Hey guys, finally, I'm getting my Android next month. Actually, I could get it last year if I had scored good in my exams. But that didn't happen and I was 'smart'phone less. This year, I scored good and now I'm doing Mechanical Engineering first year. I could get the phone months back, but I didn't want to put stress on my parents as college and hostel fees were a great expense. Now, the condition is at an ease, and I can get a phone next month. My budget is Rs.16000 ie. around 300 USD. * +

I'm considering the Xperia U. What are your thoughts on it? As, I'm an Engineering student, I think the dual core processor will help me in doing languages like C, C++ and also Auto CAD on the go. But I'm worried about its graphics performance and limited storage. * +

Yes it does.. And I've done all the searching and still not getting the answer. In Nenamark 2, both Adreno 205 in Neo L and Mali 400MP in Xperia U score about same i.e. around 37. But some say, Xperia U has advantages of dual core in real life graphic performance. Is it true? * +

AutoCAD on a mobile hmmm, I reckon what you need is a tab for cad and a cheap mid range mobile for calls, texts, my suggestions would be the nexus 7 and the ascend g300 by huwaie that should cover the 300 quid price you have in mind EDIT just noticed you said dollars not pounds, dual core would help but the gpus wouldn't really help in either of those mobiles, I don't know if you could get a galaxy s2 for that money but its still an awesome mobile and could be able to run AutoCAD (I think) * +

Your best bet is a Motorola XT910 RAZR, its got a dual-core TI OMAP with PowerVR SGX540 GPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB built-in mem with MicroSD expansion, 4.3inch Super-AMOLED 540x960 display and will get Android4.0. The catch is that you will have to up your budget to around Rs24000, unless you go the 2nd hand route. * +

If you can get it up to as far as Rs25000 then go straight for a Galaxy S2 I9100, its the best 2011 dual-core and is getting Android4.1 :) * +
