for all the advancement in android I'm struggling for something to provide painless text entry compared to Nokia's simplicity.. I just want a simple t9 keyboard that can also learn and remember words or worse case allow me to enter them into a user dictionary. I can't believe the options are so laboured. starting to wish Samsung had infringed Nokia's copywrite as well. any suggestions (no offence) that do what I need as apposed to what you like ???? * +

Have you tried HTC IME keyboard? Before i discovered TouchPal's t9 , i always had an apk of HTC IME in my X10 so that no matter what ROM i had, i used that keyboard as its not in Play Store, must i upload it for you? Takes some setting up once installed, but an excellent t9 keyboard. * +

in the last 6months speedyshare has been impossible to get onto. am I missing touchpal's user dictionary feature polo, or does it not actually have 1? * +

It does have it, just go into its settings, go down to Dictionary Management ,it allows Import of contacts, and updating the dictionary. If you want to add words just type them, and it asks you if you want to save them. * +

when I select its settings and go to dictionary management and import contacts it does only that, import my contacts. where do I type words so that it asks if I want to save them, cos its not doing ordinarily ! * +

For me at happens as i type, if i type a word it doesnt recognize e.g. as i type this post, it will ask to save the word in the littlmd bar above the alphanumeric keys where the settings key * +

OK for example say I wanna teach it to say fone instead of phone. if I turn t9 off the options for words don't appear. if I leave it on and press the 3 key with d e f, if it even offers me the choice of those single letters (it doesn't always do that) then it breaks the word by putting in a space I didn't ask for. if it didn't put the space without asking it wouldn't be so bad. or if it asked me to save words I typed with multitap but it don't.. * +
