initially i bought some fake tour beats (in ear) for 25 pounds and they sounded ok, I then went and bought the legit ones and they were immense! * +

I then bought the solo hd on ear 1s and was really impressed with the sound from these but the build of them was pi*s poor, i sent them back twice bcos of faults with them and they then upgraded me to the studio headphones!! * +

so i feel as though im experienced enough to say that the sound offered by beats by dre is fkn immense! The solo hds offer a great mixture of highs and lows whereas the studios are more focused on the lows! i can honestly say that they are well worth the money (even though i havent paid the 300 pounds asking price! *
