It might also be worth checking out 'Ringtone Maker' (free on the Market) if you've still got the same problem after increasing your notification volume, as it has a 'plus 1' or 'plus 2' feature, meaning you can increase the overall volume of anything you wish to set as a ringtone (along with a host of other useful features). * +
