you can connect it via wifi tether, making your phone a wifihotspot. If sense dont have it inbuilt download an app from market. And every oems have separate suits. Download Htc's suite from website. It must be at sw support section * +

usb has nothing to do with wifi. download any wifi tether app from market. now turn it on. a55 uming your pc or laptop has wifi, you will find a new hotspot in available networks. connect to that network. simple. this will be usefull only if ur pc has a wifi card. by default you will be having an open netwok. you can secure it using a password and the network name might be something starting with android,htc or the name of the app you use. * +

I Dont know if htc gingerbread stock rom has wifi tether, touchwiz and blurr has it inbuilt in every 2.3 roms. someone who owned a desire can help. just go to your network settings and check if there is wifi tether menu. it must be under settings/network/tethering and hotspot. if its there turn it on and switch on your pc's wifi and connect wirelessly. if not download an app like joikuspot * +
