photos suddenly started not showing up on my gallery today, i only get no items.... I googled for the problem and here are some of the things ive tried to solve the problem but no luck...Force close the gallery,Clear gallery cache/data,Mount and dismount sd card,Delete sd/android/data/com.cooliris.media,Delete sd/DCIM/.thumbnails,Reboot device, * +

i have a blog so.i. also tried to sync the photos from my google account, weird these do show up... all my photos and pictures are in my sd card because i can see them using file explorer * +

.. also if i take new pictures with the phones camera they would show up in gallery but also dissappear a short while after closing it... * +

I'd have suggested doing all of the above 
are you accessing the gallery from your main apps list or via a separate folder? I only ask because I had gallery inside a Folder Organises folder, and it was showing two separate gallery apps, one worked and one didn't. Don't use the stock gallery personally anyway, Quickpic seems much better to me. * +

okay to answer my own question..... i googled harder... 
... And was able to solve my problem... For the sake of others having the same problem... I connected my phone to pc in usb mode, searched for .nomedia files and deleted all of them.. Disconnected phone and voila! All my pictures were back in gallery! * +
