ok im a noob with android and ive got my son an archos 7 v2 for xmas, just need a crash course in android realy, i think its running 2.2, firstly can it be updated to latest version? Also could do with things like extension file names, good apps, best browser, and mods to make it more useful. Im no noob when it comes to modding and pc stuff, thanks in adv for any help, pointers or links * +

Cant go wrong with any file manager e.g astro manager,e.s file manager.afaik it doesnt support flash but for me the best browser wud b dolphin hd.u might have to root ur android to explore it full potential.key word:full controll * +

Well it depends.all/most android devices works well straight out of the box without any rooting/modification what so ever.but some of the owner of those device want more freedom,tweak kernel,modify rom,remove unwanted blootware,making backup,etc and rooting is needed to grant all this super user privilege. * +

Regarding flash,iirc,ur device only have flashlite 9.u shud google for more infos *
