If I use a launcher like WX or GO or whatever, the widgets on my stock launcher keep running in the background don't they? * +

even if you dont use them unless you remove it.. use root uninstaller to remove samsung cr*p.. widgets works with any homescreen whatever launcher you use.. * +

Your other launcher closes when you use another, if you're not convinced then id suggest that when you set your new launcher go and Force Stop the one you used b4 in Applications. * +
