Drivers are for your laptop so your phone can communicate with it. What you have described is rather hard to diagnose. * +

i mean, i used the root method from www.revolutionary.io. It requires a pc. I uninstalled htc sync on my laptop, restarted pc then ran the drivers provided on the site, connected phone, after that i ran the app on pc, it put my phone in fastboot mode and asked permission to download additional driver or something. As i did not have internet connection and the phone already in fastboot mode i could not connect my phone to use it as modem. So the problem is, how do i root my phone? * +

I managed to root my desire on 1.02 using revolutionary tool. Just read the documentation throughly on http://revolutionary.io gets those pc app to perform s-off download http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip, flash it in recovery mode from phone itself, voila.:-) *
