I'll tell you what's happened. He's had some drugs at that festival, gone back with those 2 lads he's met that night for afters (everyone is your new best friend in drugs). Drugs are waring off and the sun is shining and he's thought why am I at this random house with random people, it's time to go home. He's left the house dehydrated to fuuck and started coming down, all he can think about and is getting back at which point a hike seems a better option than waiting 2hrs for a bus.
