Also, most homes in the UK are well insulated and/or designed to trap heat inside to keep us all cozy warm during the cold winter months, as opposed to homes in very warm climates, that are usually well ventilated and designed to keep you cool in the heat. Unfortunately this means it can become uncomfortably warm inside when the weather gets hot here and I would imagine it's the reverse in warmer climates when it gets cold, the homes are more difficult to heat and keep warm. * +
