So, a couple in Greys,Essex have had the Golli dolls taken from their boozer..only to be returned.
Would you patronize a pub that had these dolls on display? * +

The guy who owns the pub and his Mrs claim there's nothing racist about the dolls and that they are on display to bring back happy feelings of childhood. So maybe we will see them display Rupert Bear dolls or Noddy and Big Ears dolls? * +

The guy Chris Ryley is pictured somewhere wearing a Britain First shirt and he made a comment via text to his Mrs that 'We used to hang them in Mississippi'.
I love it when racists expose their beliefs.
Hopefully he will lose his license and his job.

The Golli doll, as we call it these days, has played a positive and helpful role in predominantly 'white' societies. Helping 'white' children warm to the invariably happy and friendly Golly characters has, for the most part, been a positive building block in the inclusion of darker skinned migrants to the areas involved.

You'd think that positive tools to assist immigration would be welcomed by most people, yet oddly it seems there are contradictory swathes in society. But then, everyone has different ideas of how to do things - tolerance of our differences, it seems, is something many still struggle with. * +
