entire cities wiped out, 60 percent demolished 30 percent had big damage, many people died or lost their homes and they are on streets with cold and hunger, not enough tents or food, water, medicine.. it's much worse than what media shows, tens of thousands of people died not just because buildings collapsed but they couldn't be accessed and saved even after 3 days passed so they died of wounds, cold, hunger or traumas. I haven't seen such a bad thing happen to so many people in a very short time, many people sent clothings, food and other stuff but the earthquake zone is too wide, over 13 million people affected , there is not enough organization and the government is failing big time , they acted late and should have sent military on the ground but it's almost too late now, not much hope left for the people waiting to be rescued :(
Reminds me the one we had durin 2005 almost same nd hapnd durin October so it was cold nd rainy nd coz ov that also many ppl died as they wer livin in the open with no homes or propa tents.. * +

scale is huuge! We don't even guess from here but slowly aid messages coming up in whatsapp groups about families seeking accommodation help in other cities.. 13 million people and probably 2 or 3 million Syrian immigrants were in the region and probably more than half would need new homes.
we are seeing videos showing refugees looting aids and our own people just watching because they are not used to this situation while Syrians won't hesitate, they are even looting homes that were damaged...
It really is mind boggling. I'm so sorry this is happening in your country. It really is the most horrible helpless feeling reading about the damage caused, lives lost and so many injured, let alone the looting and lawlessness. Rip to the lost xo * +

Heartbreaking, really hope these kids come through this as best they can. A newborn baby girl was rescued alive after being born under the rubble! She was found with the umbilical cord still attached cradled in the arms of her dead mother. There are just no words(sad). *
