My friend wants to transfer her CD collection to USB stick. I've never done that before so I'm asking here.
Is it just a case of uploading her CD's to her laptop harddrive and then downloading them to USB stick?
Thanks in advance. * +

Most media players can also convert CD music into a digital format. The highest quality would be lossless, but be sure the digital memory storage device is large enough for that format. * +

I used to use MusicMatch Jukebox for CD ripping. * +

Convert each CD to mp3 format on any multimedia player application and you're good to go.

I would just download the music straight from the Internet, save all that work. * +

I used to use CDs about 20yrs ago, and I got a laptop. Being a laptop in the '00s it had a CD drive.

I'd put the CD in, put a USB stick in, and copy the contents of one drive to the other it. I think the CD was drive C and stick drive E or something.

All my CDs were uploaded to Windows Media Player, too. Nice little player, that was.

I have nfi how you'd do it these days. * +
