It's probably not only three things that have ever got in the way, but right now, three things spring to mind.

1) Genuine physical/external complications. Everything from careers, distance, infrastructure.. Ugh idk just stuff. It's tragic when you love them, and they love you, but you're both torn away by shit that'd take too much of a fight for it to roll.

2) Misunderstanding. Just a plain old lack of transparent synchronisation. Trust, agenda, faith, fk knows. You see enough in each other to want to be together, but not enough to make the effort appealing.

3) Self preservation - the relationship is killing you. You may see it killing them, and even others. You're losing yourself, ageing, stressed, breaking.. You can't go on when it's toxic. * +
