North Korea was China's reaction to the South attempting to invade all of the region as they were backed by the USA, while foregoing the will of the North who were influenced by the Soviets.

Same with Vietnam. China helping an ally against the capitalist America from invasion.

Khmer rouge was also destroyed by Vietnam by the way as they were backed by China; Also known as the greatest humanitarian act in recent history.

China's rarely if ever been the aggressor really. * +

But I'm just bullsh*tting. China's definitely keeping dictators and petty communist systems alive throughout the world to keep their fragile party in power. They just don't have need for direct aggression when incentive alone keeps people voluntarily enslaved. * +

I dont doubt that . The point I was making is china will intervene when the buffer countries are threatened and it's in China interests too. You always have. I'm not even saying they're wrong . But it's a bit of a stretch when you try to sell china as peaceful and non interventionist lol * +

Taiwan's a disputed territory. There's a difference. Both sides had a government and saw themselves as the rightful ruler of all of china.

On paper both governments even today claim the territory of both sides as their own and see the other as illegally occupying part of their country.

and China building bases off the coast of Taiwan isn't that non interventionist. * +
