We can't find the remote for the AC in the bedroom.. so I went looking for a remote control app. Our AC brand wasn't in the list, but I selected LG and went to test it. Not sure whose AC I turned on.. but it wasn't ours

Exactly.. and I am sure my phone doesn't have any kind of IR output. But if the remote for the hypothetical IG unit is wireless, maybe I hacked their AC? kinda cool. * +

well they'd have to be using your Wi-Fi network or be close enough for Bluetooth, close enough to hunt you down.
