I read some accounts today from women affected and of the children taken away from them ,heart breaking....
There has been calls for reparation, how one puts a price on that I don't know ....
I personally know of a man who thought himself a true orphan till in his fifties when an older sibling traced him , they were all put in orphanages when his mum died ,being the youngest he had no clue he had siblings or that they'd been taken off the dad ...there was no love at those places ....He ended up in England...in his fifties he found a huge family all over the South of Ireland...three brothers and two sisters , he'd always assumed he was the result of a 'shameful ' pregnancy * +

I've stopped reading the articles tbh , I read a few about how their babies were taken away and farmers literally walking around selecting lads, who were then treated as slaves . That was enough * +

This is very unfair because the majority of people did not know what was happening in these places, it was kept very, very quiet. The few that did know would have had no chance of exposing the truth as the catholic church was extremely powerful in many ways *
