The prime minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has resigned following a no-confidence vote in Parliament, the presidency announced on Friday

Sylvestre Ilunga Ilunkamba handed in his resignation to President Felix Tshisekedi.

On Wednesday, Ilunga was ousted in a parliamentary vote of no-confidence.

Ilunga, an ally of former President Joseph Kabila, was the head of the coalition government.

It followed President Tshisekedis decision to end a power-sharing agreement with supporters of Kabila after months of tensions between the two camps. * +
