I haven't been tempted to give the gerbils so much as puddle, i'll be honest as ever with this, i actually quite like their smell. Beats pot pourri or Glade chemicals for sure.

I just clean their cage every couple of months - they hide their food and make their own tunnels so it probably pisses them off, but they seem exited to find all new stuff to do. *
