i always google random numbers and 9/10 them are known telemarketers and/or scammers. Also it helps that official numbers start with 09-310etc. While marketers etc. are often 040924and so on... * +

I just nearly got scammed on ebay, wtf

I picked a Nyan Cat tee shirt, the ad said it'd be free delivery from France, clicked as usual, it went to the basket and checkout as usual, went to pay and it said card details expired...
Over the page i got a pop-up box with fields for card details, all ebay signature, so i clicked on the first field and it offered to autofill - i thought hang on a minute, my old card is well expired, i already put my new one in months ago...

So i backed out, went back to basket, saved it for later, and bought a car part already in the basket from a few days ago - payment from the registered card no problems, paid as usual.

Now i'm pretty savvy, i don't get scammed (it happened years ago, the first time i used Amazon, and paypal refunded), but this was on my ebay account so i was led pretty deep into it.

I don't know how they've managed to piggy-back an ebay ad but there it is, it's a thing. A card details field is a card details field - don't fill it out unless you have willingly summoned it at that time.
