It doesn't have to be paid, all the courses I did were free, and knowledge alone is valuable without a piece of paper attaching any other external value to it.
I mean understanding even an aota of the complex science of astronomy seems to open my mind, I don't mind if the degree doesn't help me end up being in NASA.

I have known some friends who have done that and it looked it worked out well. I thought it is pretty convenient for some, especially when they have kids at home to tend to. It is a good motivation, too. I have been doing my own CE units online and looking forward to do some post grad studies soon. * +

If you do a course from a reputable organisation backed by many company's and industry and education bodies then it's valid but don't expect anyone to take you seriously if you put on your CV .. Studied on UDEMY

I'd a University of London international LLB degree from Hong Kong, and I can vouch for these statements. Most of the students surrounded in my class were people from the working class, and thus were quite responsible and gave a lot of priority to the courses we followed.
Even the education was twice as lengthy in terms of depth in contrast to the LLB programme in London. * +

Ive taken online courses. It takes self discipline and time management. Essentially, instead of being instructed and directed on what and when to study youll be deciding this yourself. Its up to you really. No ones there to redirect your attention or give advice.
