Carried out 75years ago by RAF 617 squadron. Many Lancaster's and their crews set off from RAF Scampton on this mission. Some failed to return. One of the hardest missions of the war. Carried out magnificently by these airmen, 2 of whom are still alive. Credit also to Barnes Wallis and his bouncing bombs. Brave men of whom over 50 died on this mission * +

Barnes Wallace was the holy grail of car accessory shops for us in 1992 (nod)

I got my Splatt stickers, Cobra alarm, Feu Orange air freshener, Audioline stereo and Goodmans speakers from there. * +

Sobering to think that over 55,000 people lost their lives in bomber command during WW2. If anyone is in the Lincolnshire area am told the bomber command museum is worth visiting * +

Saw some documentary that claimed the dams bursting wasn't even a huge problem for the Germans.

''Within five months, all the damage the Dambusters had caused was repaired.'' * +
