Don't think that would be totally right mate....afterall the party got in on the independence pledge and pro Spain party got less then 13 percent of votes. Some could have been scared to vote thanks to the police and haven't they been shipping in pro Spain supporters from outside the region? Local tribal mentality is on the rise around Europe at the moment thanks to people thinking the wider country governments neglect certain areas or use them as cash cows to prop up areas * +

Yeah i got family there too, but to be fair they love it. My cousin has three great kids with a Spanish waiter who's been a great husband and father. And her folks, my aunt/uncle, are no nearer returning.
Not that there's any jobs for the three teens to go to, but still..

Spain is and always will be fascist, the Guardia Civil are the most nasty police force in Europe, they started as Franco's body guards are completely fascist, even normal spanish local police are scared of them, they wouldn't think twice about attacking the catalan people. *
