A little rule to live by.... If you can't remember something fairly unimportant like 'who sang that song?' or 'what's the name of that film?' or 'What's the name of that celebrity?'... Don't just immediately Google it... Try to remember it.. Even if it takes you all day.. Cause when you finally do remember it, wow. What a great feeling!.. It's like scoring a goal at Wembley or whatever floats your boat...

You know the worst one.. when you have a song in your head but can't even grasp any of the words to it to Google. * +

If you really can't remember it.. Maybe try looking it up in a book instead of Googling.... That way you might accidentally learn something else too...

And at least if you touch a certain part of the book it won't suddenly take you to an advert for the new Ford Mondeo.... * +

I wonder if in time ..lots of time..our ability to remember stuff will devolve cos it will be easier to Google the answer..or whatever the future Google equivalent may turn out to be. * +

In that case just try singing/whistling/humming the tune to someone.... A bit of social interaction never hurt anyone..... Probably.. * +

I sometimes wonder,who's actually smarter

person A: that possesses a lot of retained information from books,learning and experience

person B: avid user of google,wikipedia etc that has retained information by those means.

there are alot of faux intelligent people these days it seems.

Yeah humans might evolve to have really bad memories... We'd have to be constantly leaving notes for ourselves on our phones or pads or whatnot... * +
