you're inventing things to believe here whether you recognise it or not. I watched the news every single day as a child up until my teenage years. year after year even into the late 80s official reports recorded the trend in the decline.
it happened, why you need to try and tell yourself it must be down to the previous labour government and the unions is your own (weird) business, but again all a matter of record.
it happened on her watch, and well after her union reforms and her government didn't do a thing to stop it.

because the trust n reliability had gone
it didn't just magically reappear overnight it takes time
and some never could as cheaper more reliable sources where found, it is not rocket science
and i invented nothing all those things happened * +

your reasoning doesn't explain a trend still occurring in 86 and beyond does it.

the rationale of taking on the unions was to protect industry so why do nothing to help it after that ? * +

the strikers caused the permanent loss of tens of thousands of jobs in the black country alone
and once they had gone it was nigh on impossible to get em back
that's why the continued decline for years after * +

that doesn't explain anything about businesses that folded years after. it certainly doesn't justify inaction to prevent it either.

Thatcher ran out ideas beyond attacking unions and just sat back and watched it happen without so much as a comment on it. * +
