If it makes you feel any better, remember that 'Mother's day' is actually just a cynical commercial marketing ploy used to guilt trip people into buying flowers, chocolates and mawkish greeting cards. Today is actually 'Mothering Sunday' and it's actual meaning has nothing at all to do with giving gifts to women who have children, it's actually supposed to be the day that people are meant to honour and praise their 'mother church'
, not an excuse for mums to have their children make them breakfast in bed and spend the day eating chocolates with their feet up. Sorry mums
