Have you tried asking the doctors or surgeon for alternative anaesthetic? I am sure there are a wide range of anaesthetic protocols available like I.V and inhaled etc. Many abdominal surgeries can actually be with the patient awake, using epidural or spinal anesthesia to avoid general anesthesia. Like C-sections.. * +

Yes I asked about epidural but the consultant said that is not an option. * +

when my dad's apoendix burst they gave him a twenty percent chance of making it thru the op due to his heart. it is a very real grave danger. *
