It's not the op that's the worry it's the anaesthetic,she was told she would not survive any surgery because her heart is fkd,the op is routine for most people but it could potentially kill her,anyhow she's still not had it and is in so much pain,I love how some people are so flippant. Thanks for replying everybody. End of topic!!

Have you tried asking the doctors or surgeon for alternative anaesthetic? I am sure there are a wide range of anaesthetic protocols available like I.V and inhaled etc. Many abdominal surgeries can actually be with the patient awake, using epidural or spinal anesthesia to avoid general anesthesia. Like C-sections.. * +

That's a standard question they ask to cover themselves, you shouldn't read too much into it.

No it's because she will die on the table,no if or buts about it,we were told last night she will not be getting any ops...EVER. * +

Yes I asked about epidural but the consultant said that is not an option. * +

when my dad's apoendix burst they gave him a twenty percent chance of making it thru the op due to his heart. it is a very real grave danger. *
