I bought my dad a player that records vinyl to CD, wasn't an especially good one but at least it meant he'd only have to play his open collection once more. * +

I recorded all my vinyl to tape, via a Technics 1210 turntable to a Nakamichi cassette deck. * +

A lot of people did that back in the 80s when cassette was a popular format. I recorded all mine to mini discs back in the early 2003 and then got rid of all my vinyl, with the exception of a few that I recorded at 24bit 96Khz and manually removed the pops and clicks and added a bit of top EQ on a computer. * +
