I remember reading an article about dentistry in the 1700s. Apparently someone having a tooth extracted was a public event. Crowds used to turn up to watch and cheer as the person had their tooth,teeth yanked out on a raised platform in the middle of the town. * +

Ogdenz. What bout the fairs where familys used too ave a day out to the coach house to view the public on the gibbit cross. I would ave loved to bin a kid back then, throwing rotton veg n fruit at the prisoners in the stocks. It must ave bin fun playing with all the neighbourhood and other kids whoose family,s went too these events when they were on. *
