My friend was part of the jury on a murder trial not 2 long back n she sed itll stay with her 4eva, wudnt ever want to do it myself * +

never been called up. But when i first started as a prison officer we used to have to take prisoners to the crown courts and take them into court. Iv spent hundreds of hours, sitting in on court cases. Some interesting some boring. Its when they start going on about phone numbers and stuff that it becomes mind numbing. There was one case the lawyer went on and on about phone numbers for 3 days, i was on the verge of self harming. Used to love going to the old baily, the judges were old fuddy duddies who wouldnt take any p00p off the high priced lawyers. It was always fun watching the judge boll0k lawyers. * +

No i haven't, not yet, but have heard ppl who have had say that the clerk of the court pays all expenses etc,, as dear old Arfur Daley would say 'A nice little earner;' i dont know if true tho., or B.S. I did attend court as witness in a friends divorce case once. Was s**tting myself at first, but was not as bad as i thought it would be. * +

I would have loved to have seen that, some of those lawyers think that they are the dogs whatsits! And need taking dnwn a peg or three. * +

Yeah they pay a daily rate and travel and give a decent meal or they did when I did jury service * +

im not sure id be allowed to do jury service now, being an ex screw. I may know the defendant and if i did know him or her then id know if he or she was a scuzball. It may be considered to be prejudical
