Motorola Q makes its way to Sprint's business lineup

image

No longer exclusive to Verizon Wireless, the slim smartphone will come with the same set of features -- including EV-DO support and push e-mail -- plus Sprint's On Demand and NFL Mobile apps.

Set to arrive in Sprint's lineup of business handsets in February, the Motorola Q will mark the carrier's first slim smartphone offering; Verizon Wireless launched the Q last May, T-Mobile announced the slim Dash back in the fall, and Cingular just made a splash with the svelte Samsung BlackJack. Sprint's gray-colored Q will boast the same basic features as Verizon Wireless' version (read our full review), including the smartphone edition of Windows Mobile 5.0 (which is sadly lacking in document editing abilities), 3G data access, tethered modem capabilities, a 1.3-megapixel camera, push e-mail (including compatibility with Exchange and Good Messaging servers), and miniSD memory expansion. Sprint is also adding its On Demand news and information app, as well as NFL Mobile for the latest gridiron news and real-time scores. Unfortunately, it looks like Sprint's Q won't work with Sprint's TV or music services (it's worth noting that Verizon's Q didn't work with V Cast either). Keep an eye out for our full review.
