Samsung unveils slim BlackJack smartphone

Set for Cingular, Samsung's Windows Mobile-powered, HSDPA-enabled business phone (a.k.a. the SGH-i607) is set to compete with the Motorola Q and the T-Mobile Dash.
Announced today at a New York City press conference, the BlackJack looks to be the latest in a string of slim smartphones, including the Motorola Q (released earlier this year) and the more recent T-Mobile Dash and Nokia E62 (which isn't exactly wafer thin, but it still manages to squeeze into the group). Measuring about 0.5 inches thick, the Windows Mobile-powered BlackJack (formerly known as the SGH-i607) works with Cingular's 3.5G HSDPA network and boasts a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, support for MS Exchange and Good Mobile Messaging and the Picsel document viewer and Web browser (which has impressed us in the past on phones such as the Samsung IP-830w). Missing from the list of features, however, is built-in Wi-Fi. Keep your eyes peeled for our full review.
