INTRODUCTION: The subject of the Ten Commandment Law of God is one of the most debated subjects in Christian circle. There is one Group of people who say the Ten Commandment Law was only for the Jews and it came to an end at the cross of Jesus. Then there is another group that will say the Ten Commandment Law didnt begin with Moses and the Children of Israel, but the Ten Commandment Law is Gods eternal standard by which human beings are to live by. *

QUESTION 1: What are the Ten Commandments, and whose instructions are they?

Exodus 20:1-17 And God spake all these words:

COMMANDMENT 1

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

COMMANDMENT 2

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing] that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

COMMANDMENT 3

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

COMMANDMENT 4

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

COMMANDMENT 5

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

COMMANDMENT 6

Thou shalt not kill.

COMMANDMENT 7

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

COMMANDMENT 8

Thou shalt not steal.

COMMANDMENT 9

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

COMMANDMENT 10

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

NB: The Bible is clear these words: the Ten Commandments was spoken audibly by GOD HIMSELF DIRECTLY from His Throne in Heaven. *

QUESTION 2: Ok God spoke the Ten Commandments, but who wrote them, was it Holy Men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit?

Exodus 31:18 And he [God] gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Exodus 32:15-16 And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on BOTH their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. 16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

NB: Jehovah God entrusted man to pen all the rest of scripture, but when it came to his Ten Commandments Law. He wrote it HIMSELF ark welding with His very Own Finger on Tables of stone.

In Exodus 32:19-20 The Bible later reveals that when Moses came down from the Mountain and saw the people worshiping the golden calf. Moses got so angry that he broke the tables of Stones on which God had previously written. *

QUESTION: 3 After Moses broke the First set of Tables of Stone as mentioned in Exodus 32:15-16; who wrote the Ten Commandment on THE SECOND SET of Tables of Stones?

Exodus 34:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.

Deuteronomy 10:1-5 At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.

2 And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.

3 And I made an ark of s**ttim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.

4 And he [God] wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.

5 And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.

NB: According to both passages God himself was the One who wrote the Ten Commandment Law on tables of Stone the Second time, all Moses did was to Cut or Hew the Tables of Stones for God to write on. *

QUESTION 4: What is another name that God gave to his Ten Commandment Law?

Deuteronomy 4:12-13 And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice. And he God[ declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

NB: Another name that God gave to his Ten Commandment Law is ''His Covenant'' *

QUESTION 5: Is the Ten Commandment Law of God Eternal?

Psalm 111:7-9 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all HIS COMMANDMENTS are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded HIS COVENANT For ever: holy and reverend is his name.

Psalm 119:89 For ever, O LORD, THY WORD is settled in heaven.

NB: God's Word; God's Ten Commandment Law is Eternal like God Himself. The Bible tells us that God exalts His WORD; His LAW even above is very own name. (Psalm 138:2). *

QUESTION 6: Can the Ten Commandment Law of God be change or Alter?

Psalm 111:7-9 MY COVENANT will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one t*tle of THE LAW to fail.

Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but MY WORDS shall not pass away. *
