St. Anselms Theory of VICARIOUS and ADEQUATE SATISFACTION, a bit long, ... Out of d mercy of God he did not choose punishment but chose that adequate satisfaction b made. But man (d offender) cnt make adequate satisfaction since we r not EQUAL to d dignity of God (d offended party) only Christ can make ADEQUATE SATISFACTION for mankinds sin (an offnse against God) . . . In a nut shell just read Jn.3.16, that says it all. . . *
